Unbelievably beautiful
I had forgotten how beautiful this country is. So when we touched down at Manado International Airport yesterday, it all came back. The view of the island called Manado Tua, the mountains in the background, the rows and rows of palmtrees that stretch as far as yhe eye can see, and that lush color green we Dutch folks only get to enjoy in the spring.
Oceanview cottage
Our cottage rocks. We step out onto a little beach area, and the interior decoration (at least to me) beats staying in any hotel room. It's not luxurious but very comfortable, and our outside bathroom really is designed for romantic getaways. The word 'oceanview' is spot on as well. I was just too late to photograph a stunning sunset last night, but at breakfast I took a gazillion pictures of the beach, the ocean and, afterwards, the cotttage interior (I promise I'll find a way to share these).
Divers resort
It's very clear that our resort is designed for divers. There's a diving school on-site, a jetty with two boats, and you can literally see the tropical ocean fish swim by the jetty in the crystal clear water. Just like I remember seeing as a 7-year old kid, the first time I visited.
Slow boat to China
Being in an area lime this, though, does have the drawback of extremely unreliable and slow internet. So, my goal is to upload my pictures later on this week, when I can find an internet cafe, or at the house of one of my family members. There's so much to see, that I'll try o create an album on either Picasa or Flickr, depending how it goes. So stay tuned, these are worth seeing.
