Across from Lake Batur

Accessible only by boat lies a village that is said to be the home of the indigineous Bali people, who were there prior to the Hindu population arriving in the 16th century. I was told they have a unique way of laying to rest the deceased, involving a very large banyan tree (Waringin tree in Indonesian). This post explains it all in detail, we did not make it out there ourselves.
