Ulun Danu

'Pura' means 'temple', 'puri' means 'house'
This was a few days back, and our first day of exploring where it actually rained. With an overcast sky pretty much all day, it was very hard to get some good shots of this beautiful temple called Pura Ulun Danu on the biggest lake of Bali, called Bratan lake. The temple is devoted to the goddess Dewi Danu, the goddess of the water, lakes, and rivers. The lake itself plays an important role in the irrigation system that can be found across Bali, and which is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We lucked out on a ceremony taking place while visiting the temple.
