Means 'open'

But, at what time exactly, that was the big question this morning. On the door of the immigration office it said 08:00 AM, the guard said it was 08:30 AM, and inside one of the immigration officers (still off duty) told me it was 09:00 AM. And we got there at 07:30 AM. There is no explanation of the process, and there is nobody who speaks proper English, so you have to be the truly assertive type to move things along. 

Anyhow, four hours later, we were given a matrix printer printout. This is our one proof of having handed in our passports, the thing we need to pay for the extension, and for picking up our extended visas. And here's the best thing yet: we need to pick up our passports on August 31, and we're leaving...... Right: September 1.

I have to remember: I am a Lotus flower. Patience, patience is a virtue.
